Takatu Lodge & Vineyard offers a relaxing romantic space to unwind after your wedding, with peaceful surrounds that allow for the body and mind to slip away.
Mead is an alcoholic beverage, created by fermenting honey with water. During medieval times, mead was part of the marriage ritual. Following the wedding, the bride and groom were provided enough mead to last to one full moon. Consuming this sweet wine was said to instil good luck in their marriage. Mead was also believed to promote fertility and virility. From that ritual and belief came the term "honeymoon".
Spend two days in the picturesque surrounds of Takatu Lodge, relaxing in each other's company and wind down into the rhythm of wedded bliss.
On arrival you will receive a gift of honeymead to enjoy as you take the time to savour your evenings together.
